Inspired by today’s Task and this week’s ONE Campaign theme, the Chasers
took to talking about the AIDS pandemic and how it affects not just
Africa but the world as a whole.
They all shared stories of how AIDS has affected them in their
communities and the experiences they have come to know surrounding
poverty and the spread of AIDS. Beverly told them about how the people
in her country are nonchalant about AIDS.
Dillish said she was fortunate because she works with AIDS orphans in
her country and she often sees and hears about how ignorant and
irresponsible the young boys and girls are. “They sometimes even don’t
know how they get infected and that is a huge problem,” the Namibian
beauty said. She also expressed how dangerous the adverts were that told
people to get test kits from pharmacies at any time of the day.
Dillish said that sex should be a pleasurable thing where both partners
feel comfortable discussing and using condoms. “People should not feel
that using a condom is a duty, they should feel that it’s a necessity to
get the job done,” she explained. It was really pleasant to hear that
all our Chasers have in-depth knowledge about AIDS and how to conduct
yourself as a person in order to be safe. Kudos to the Chasers.
