David Beckham is having pie and mashed potato shipped out to France.
The 37-year-old soccer star has signed a five-month contract with Paris Saint-Germain but won't be missing out on his favourite hearty meal as Tony Lane - whose shop in Waltham Abbey, Essex, East England, is a regular haunt of the sportsman when he is in the UK - has promised to package out the food to his new home, repeating the habit he established when he lived in Spain and played for Real Madrid for four years from 2003.
Tony told the Daily Star newspaper: ''No way will David survive on rich French food. An Englishman can't live on frogs' legs.
''We've already been told to send our pies over to France - and it's not unusual. We did the same when he was at Madrid and even deliver them when he stays at the Savoy [hotel] in London.
''And if he wants me to come and cook for him there, my door is open.''
David - who has 19-month-old daughter Harper and sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10, and seven-year-old Cruz with wife Victoria - always orders the same meal consisting of double pie, double mash, parsley liquor and jellied eels on the side.
Tony believes his traditional food is what keeps David ''fit'' and looking youthful.
He added: ''My pie and mash has made David the fit man he is. He'd be showing his age a lot more if he hadn't been eating our recipe regularly.
''Once he's settled in Paris and knows where he is, he'll be back in my shop.''

The 27-year-old model - who has been dating the 'Ordinary People' people singer for seven years and became engaged to him in December 2011 - has given her fiancé an ultimatum that they either tie the knot by the end of 2013 or she's ''out''.
She said: ''We keep pushing the date.''
Quizzed when they might marry, she revealed: ''Definitely this year, but this year just started. If it's not this year, I'm out.''
The Sports Illustrated cover girl admitted that she and John, 34, got engaged after constant pressure from their friends and family about when they would settle down but bemoaned that she is constantly being hassled about their impending nuptials.
Speaking to the New York Daily News newspaper, she said: ''We were sick of people saying, 'When are you getting engaged?', so we did. And now everyone's asking when we're getting married.''
And Chrissy also claimed she now plans to start a family before walking down the aisle.
She added: ''You know. I'm doing it backwards. I'm going to get de-engaged, then have a baby, then get married.''

Nominees Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence will present at the Academy Awards.Ben - who received a producer nod for 'Argo' which is also up for Best Picture - showed he is not upset over his Best Director snub by agreeing to take to the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on February 24.
Jessica and Jennifer will compete in the Best Actress category for their work in 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'Silver Linings Playbook' respectively.
Previously confirmed presenters include Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon, who have all won the coveted Best Actress award in the past.
Sandra earned her Best Actress award for 2009 drama, 'The Blind Side', while Reese won in 2005 for her role as June Carter Cash in Johnny Cash biopic, 'Walk the Line'. Nicole was crowned Best Actress for playing Virginia Woolf in 2002's 'The Hours' and Halle earned her Oscar for 2001's 'Monster's Ball'.
Other stars confirmed to present at the awards include fellow Best Actress winner, Meryl Streep, who won her third award in the category for last year's 'The Iron Lady', Channing Tatum, Jean Dujardin, Octavia Spencer, the cast of 'The Avengers' and the cast of the 2003 Best Picture winner, 'Chicago'.
The producers of this year's Oscars telecast, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, have revealed they want this year's ceremony to be more performance based than ever. Adele is expected to sing her hit song 'Skyfall' from the latest James Bond film, while Norah Jones, Shirley Bassey and Oscar winner Barbara Streisand will also take the stage.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie launch wine label
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are launching their own wine label.The couple have joined forces with the Perrin family, wine makers and owners of Chateau Beaucastel in France's Chateauneuf-du-Pape region, to create a range of wines at their estate Chateau Miraval, with the first beverage set to be a 2012 vintage pink rose.
Brad said: ''We are intimately involved and quite enthused over the wine project with our friends the Perrin family.''
While the Perrin family will take most of the responsibility for the wine production, Brad and Angelina consulted on the new bottle and redesign, which will carry the names 'Jolie-Pitt and Perrin'.
Marc Perrin told business magazine Challenges: ''We talked a lot and did the first harvest together. They are very demanding in seeking excellence in the quality and character of their wine.''
This is not Brad and Angelina's first foray into wine production as it was previously revealed Brad wants to serve their own product Pink Floyd, at their upcoming wedding.
A source said: ''Guests shouldn't be disappointed in his taste.
''He's always had a keen interest in wine and after doing his wine steward's course earlier this year, he's pretty much a certified expert.
''Pink Floyd is one of their own wines from their Miraval estate.
''Brad's cellar boasts some incredibly rare wines and rivals those of some of the best connoisseurs in Europe.''
