Let's get physical! West Ham striker Carroll continues rehabilitation with pre-season gym workout ahead of new campaign

West Ham striker Andy Carroll is stepping up his recovery from injury ahead of the new Premier League season.

Having picked up a heel injury in May, the Hammers are hopeful their new £15million frontman will be ready to return to action at the start of September.
And Carroll has taken to social networking site Twitter to give fans an update on how he's getting on.

Posting a picture of himself lifting a weight, the England international tweeted: 'Getting worked in the gym by @Monte_the_bear'.
It appears West Ham's strength and conditioning coach Mathew Monte-Colmbo is putting Carroll through his paces ahead of the attacker's return from injury.

Continuing his rehabilitation, the former Newcastle No 9 accompanied the West Ham squad on their tour of Germany last month.
Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce signed Carroll from Liverpool earlier this summer, smashing the Hammers' record transfer fee in the process.
