“The
win was not a surprise to us at all. I knew that my boys were going to
win from the start, and so I was not surprised by the result," said
Keshi.
Despite his confidence, the coach also
reminded us that he respects South African players, but feels that there
is a long road ahead for Bafana Bafana to improve.
“They (Bafana) were a good side, but I feel that they can still improve on their standards,” said Keshi.
The Nigerian said the Nelson Mandela Challenge was about giving his players a chance to practice with each other.
“Our
main goal is to play well against Malawi, and that is what we are
worried about more than anything. The Bafana game was good, but it did
not really challenge us that much,” he said.
