Goals to Fred and Paulinho sent Brazil through to the final where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between Spain and Italy.
Scolari insists the Selecao have already achieved their main goal for the tournament and is confident the recent performances prove his youngsters are ready for matches of a World Cup magnitude.
"Our mission was to reach the final, and we have done it," Scolari said. "We needed to win games like that to learn how to win in the World Cup. Our team is very young and this kind of game helps us to grow.
"This is an amazing feeling. I'm so happy, I can't say more. I'm proud of all my players with no exception. The players did it for the fans and overcame adversity."
Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar was largely responsible for the victory after saving Diego Forlan's penalty in the first half.
"I am so happy and proud," Cesar said. "The way the fans received us was incredible and gave us extra."
Neymar admitted Brazil were placed under pressure during the early stages of the match, but expressed his delight at reaching the final.
"It was typical of a semi-final game," Neymar said. "We managed to control the game. We knew it would be hard but we got the win and that was the most important thing."
